The Arkansas Razorbacks are excited to announce that goalie Emma Dietrich has committed to the University of Arkansas for the 2026-27 season. Dietrich comes to Arkansas from Wright City, MO and the Holt Varsity Boys hockey program. She will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Dietrich chose Arkansas after seeing how beautiful the school was and she gets to continue playing her favorite sport with good friends. Emma got started in hockey as a on defense, but quickly transitioned to goalie and loved it. Dietrich was the only female selected to Holt's varsity team and helped backstop them to a Founder's Cup Championship in 2026. She is also a very accomplished roller hockey goaltender and has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the process. Emma said she most resembles goalie Manon Rheaume, the first and only female to play in the NHL, because they both catch left-handed and have both suited up as the only female on all boys teams. Dietrich previously played for the Chesterfield Falcons, St. Louis Lady Cyclones, and the United Girls High School Hockey League.
The University of Arkansas Women’s Hockey team plays in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The 2025-26 season will be the team’s second season as a member of the ACHA competing in Division II. The team’s schedule can be viewed here. All home games are played at The Jones Center for Families in Springdale, AR.
