The Arkansas Razorbacks are excited to announce that defender Lexi Brookman has committed to the University of Arkansas for the 2026-27 season. Brookman comes to Arkansas from Beaumont, Alberta by way of Houston, TX and the Houston Storm Girls Hockey program. She will be pursuing a degree in Business.
When asked about why she chose Arkansas, Brookman said, "Because of the beautiful campus atmosphere and the chance to grow both academically with their strong Business program, as well as athletically with the opportunity to continue playing hockey in college. When I first stepped foot on campus, I felt a sense of belonging and was truly welcomed." Brookman began playing hockey at just 4-years-old in Canada and fell in love with the competitiveness, community, and the beauty of the sport. She served as an assistant captain for both the Houston Storm 16U Tier 2 girls team and for The Woodlands High School Varsity boys team. Lexi resembles a high-IQ defenseman with smart decision-making with and without the puck.
The University of Arkansas Women’s Hockey team plays in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The 2025-26 season will be the team’s second season as a member of the ACHA competing in Division II. The team’s schedule can be viewed here. All home games are played at The Jones Center for Families in Springdale, AR.
